Somerset's hopes of winning an LV= County Championship game on home soil for the first time this season lay in the balance at the end of day three, after losing four wickets in the final session against Nottinghamshire.
Chasing 401 to win at Taunton, the host county were seemingly well placed at one point, being 197 for one thanks to scores of 65 and 72 from captain Marcus Trescothick and 21-year-old Tom Abell.
However, four wickets fell within the space of 12 overs in the final session, leaving Division One's basement county on 274 and needing a further 127 runs to win, with five wickets remaining.
